Diagnostic Assessment, Forensic Evaluation & Other Testing 〰️

As defined by the American Psychological Association (APA), psychological assessment, or psychological testing, involves gathering and integrating data to understand behavior, abilities, and other characteristics.

Meticulously tailored to you, our assessments and evaluations combine research-backed procedures, up-to-date standardized tests, and expert analysis to thoroughly evaluate cognitive abilities, emotional patterns, and functioning across various life domains. Our approach places you at the center of the assessment from the referral to the delivery of timely and results.

  • In many ways, a diagnostic assessment is similar to a medical test —it is a tool to better understand difficulties or psychological conditions and establish the foundation for personalized care. The goal of a diagnostic assessment is to reach a precise and accurate diagnosis and clarify core components of a person’s mental health. These comprehensive tools provide insight into cognitive, emotional and social capacities, personality structure, and unique strengths. They can aid you in several ways on your journey towards improved well-being and enhanced quality of life.

  • A forensic evaluation is a generic term used for a systematic evaluation that involves the application of psychological principles to legal issues. Forensic evaluations can include examination of psychological factors, relevant legal standards, empirical research, and actuarial instruments to provide objective insights. They can cover a range of topics including competency to stand trial, criminal responsibility, risk assessment, custody determinations, immigration, fitness for duty or to practice, and personal or work-related injuries. Occasionally, expert testimony is needed.

  • There are various other types of psychological assessments that serve diverse purposes in understanding and addressing individual needs. These include, but are not limited to psychoeducational, neuropsychological, occupational assessments and those related to substance use, gender, adoption, and services or disability-related accommodations in academic, occupational, residential or other areas.

Psychological assessment is not a single test or even a single type of test but a body of research-backed procedures & a process of problem-solving to understand core components of you.
